Joan Crate’s second book of poems explores domesticity and dislocation, and includes poems celebrating Shawnandithit, a Beothuk who died in exile in Newfoundland in the nineteenth century, the last of her people.
Joan Crate was born in Yellowknife, grew up in BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan, and now teaches at Red Deer College. Her poems are included in numerous anthologies.
